Digital Story Rough Draft

17 Years in Reverse is a Digital Story based on a turning point in my life.  Within the story are example of metaphor such as a picture of our turned backs when the title pages finishes with the words"17 Years in Reverse."  In other words, we are turning to look backwards in time.  Each transition is representative of metonymy utilizing a rippling to "go back in time."

Each slide is also set up to answer the questions in the next slide. The music is by my niece Cassidy Ford.  This aunt doesn't miss a chance to be proud.

Wow, what a great story and unique presentation. The best thing about your story is the backwards timeline concept that you chose. I think it is so interesting to see your life unfold backwards like that. It’s hard to say what I would like to know more about, because you are very thorough when telling your story. I am amazed at the detail you remember from the early days of your relationship with your husband. One thing you should think about changing is the music. I love the music you use, and it would be a nice addition to hear it softly in the background as throughout the piece, or to hear different tracks from your niece spread throughout the video. Another good thing about your story is your use of photos to help tell the story. You provide many great photos for each chapter of your life, and they help bring a more personal connection to your piece. Great work!

-The best thing about your story is the reverse part of your story. I enjoyed watching the story unfold in reverse, it gave the story a new perspective.
-I would like to know more about the beginning of your relationship with Aaron.
-One thing you should think about changing is the intro is very long and doesn't draw the audience in when they have to wait that long for the video to start.
-Another good thing about your story is the way the pictures come in as you talk about them.

Jaime, This is a great story and I really like the way you told in reverse. The count down to when it all began rather then from the beginning, very creative, but then I'm not really surprised you always do really good work. I really like the "what am I going to be when I grow up?" because I connect with that too. The Keys and The Dry Tortuga's are the list for us to visit, which was an awesome idea to share with your kids when they 're young and I have feeling you'll be going back with them when they're older. I know you scripted evry word which is good to start, but now just tell us your story,it is yours, and you know it better than anybody, so throw down the script and tell us your story. Great work.

Thanks guys and gal! These are all good suggestions. I've already begun cutting down the title page. It is hard because I'm not sure when to cut Cas. I love this song in particular of the 13 or 14 I own. But I'll figure it out. I added a few more pictures to the beginning of our relationship or (aka) the end of the slideshow. And there is definitely some wording to change. This must of been take 30 by the time I was done. The song kept wanting to bleed into the second slide and I had to make sure all devices were turned off since my Mac likes to alert me of every FB update, email, and ERC loan which all come with a chime in the middle of trying to record my voice. SMH….

Jaime,
While I know that you already have your final version posted, I'm playing a little catch up :)

Your video is wonderful and heartfelt. I love that you created your own feel with your story by telling it backwards...very clever! The images are very well chosen, your voices adds personality to the movie, and the sequence is very well executed.
As some suggested, I might recommend slimming down a little on the introduction or certain explanations, as the video is a bit lengthy. It feels odd suggesting that, as the video is very well executed. I definitely understand about the voice recording! It took me hours for just a short video, due to background noises and not picking up my voice right.
